Cost effective quality control with ANN calibration technology

The unique Artificial Neural Network (ANN) technology used with solutions such as Infratec™ reduces the time and money involved in calibration. You can analyze different products and many different sample-types with just a handful of ANN calibrations, unlike some analysis solutions that require multiple calibrations to cover a range of analysis tasks.

FOSS ANN calibrations are based on information from a large number of samples and also include additional factors that could influence the measurement process. As an example, the whole grain wheat ANN calibration contains around 40,000 samples. This allows for reliable and trouble free use. All calibrations should be verified from time to time, but with the excellent stability of the Infratec instrument, the need for updates and adjustments is kept to a minimum.

ANN calibrations can be transferred to other Infratec instruments without loss of performance – a particularly important feature for larger organizations operating several sites. An Infratec network, consisting of several instruments standardized to a central master unit, can be created to cover both grain and flour.

The entire network can be quickly calibrated or upgraded with new calibrations from the central unit. Measurements are reliable, regardless of source and measurement conditions – helping to ensure consistent quality of products across different sites. Analysis results are also made transparent for regulatory authorities. As a bonus, operations are simplified, for example, calibration costs are reduced, administrative routines are simplified and duplication of effort is eliminated.

Reduced calibration costs combined with improved operational speed helps improve milling production without compromising end-product quality.
