Improving food safety with automated foreign object detection

Meat producers are embracing new technology as a way of ensuring product quality, traceability and foreign object detection.

On another occasion, a surprise visit from food safety authorities involving a visual inspection of the production line failed to reveal any objects. Yet, when production was started, two pieces of metal about 3mm in size were found.
